Copernicus, Cullinan Group Singled Out for Key Contributions

GreenMountain.com, the nation's leading provider of cleaner electricity, this week was awarded the 1999 Financial Times Energy Award for "Best Marketing," winning over 100 global and national energy companies.

Copernicus, a Boston-based marketing consulting and research firm, and The Cullinan Group, a Minneapolis-based advertising agency, were singled out for their contributions to GreenMountain.com's marketing success in achieving significant brand awareness among its target audience in Pennsylvania and California, two of the first states to deregulate electricity, last spring.

The prestigious award recognized the changing strategic role of marketing in what had been a regulated industry that had little need for marketing. The judges cited the GreenMountain.com marketing program for its:

  • Quantifiable, measurable results
